Hi, I’m Alex Welsh – New Westminster-based genealogist, amateur historian, photographer and appreciator of architecture. I began this project with the intention of photographing every lot in the city of New Westminster over time. New West Lots showcases the history, streets, parks, neighbourhoods, and the many heritage buildings of British Columbia’s original capital city.
New West Lots was created in 2019 as the Twitter account NewWestLots. On social media New West Lots can now be found on Bluesky, Mastodon and Instagram.
The city of New Westminster was built on the unceded territory of the Halkomelem-speaking peoples.
